We are the people you
call before it's an emergency.
Family-owned. Monsey-based. On roofs across the Hudson Valley since 2009.
Started with one truck and a rule
Hero Chimney Sweep began in 2009 with a single van, a set of rods and one rule that has not changed: never sell someone a repair they do not need. That sounds obvious. In this trade it is not. Chimneys are the one part of a house nobody can see, which makes them an easy place to invent problems.
So we built the whole company around removing that doubt. Every job includes photos. Every inspection can include camera footage. Every quote is written and flat before a single tool comes off the truck. If your chimney is fine, we tell you it is fine, hand you the report, and see you next year.
Why "Hero"?
Because of what a chimney actually is. It is the part of your house whose entire job is to carry fire, smoke and carbon monoxide safely up and out, past your bedrooms, every single night of the winter. When it works, nobody thinks about it. When it fails, it fails in the worst way a house can fail.
Keeping that system honest is unglamorous work. It is brushes, cameras, mortar and ladders. But it is the difference between a cozy Friday night and a call to the fire department — and we take that seriously enough to put a cape on it.
What we actually do differently
- HEPA-filtered, dust-free sweeping. Sealed at the fireplace opening, running the entire time. Your rug should not know we came.
- Photo and video documentation on every visit. Emailed the same day, yours to keep, forward to an adjuster or a buyer's attorney.
- Flat quotes, before the work. Not an estimate that grows. The number we say is the number you pay.
- One crew for the whole system. Sweeping, masonry, liners, flashing, caps and vents. No passing you between a chimney company and a roofer while your ceiling stains spread.
- We work our own service area. 30 miles around Monsey, which means we are 20 minutes away when something goes wrong, not three hours and a subcontractor.
Trained on the standards that matter
Our technicians work to NFPA 211 — the national standard for chimneys, fireplaces and vents — and follow the three-level inspection framework that insurers, home inspectors and real estate attorneys expect to see referenced in a report. We carry full liability insurance and workers' compensation, and we will send the certificate directly to whoever needs it.
The neighborhood we serve
We know these houses. The dense multi-family homes around Monsey and Spring Valley that run their heating systems hard. The Victorian stacks in Nyack and Tarrytown that need historically correct mortar. The wood stoves doing real work up in Ringwood and West Milford. The postwar splits in Paramus with prefab boxes and rusted chase covers.
That local pattern-recognition is not a marketing point — it is why we can tell you what is probably wrong before we are off the ladder, and be right most of the time.
